Gartner Research Note:
Healthcare Provider CIOs Need to Address IoT's Security Risks Now

26 January 2017

In this research note, Gartner states that, “By 2020, more than 25% of identified attacks in healthcare delivery organizations will involve the IoT.” Gartner also states, “in 2017 healthcare provider CIOs will have to rethink security in light of the vulnerabilities that accompany IoT,” and offers the following recommendations:

  • Mitigate IoT security risks by using a blended approach that includes security methods taken from mobile, cloud, industrial control, automation and physical security
  • Redefine device security strategy to address new types of vulnerabilities introduced by IoT infrastructures by including embedded trust, device identities/credentials and real-time visibility and control.
  • Enable the scale necessary for a successful IoT security strategy by creating a security plan that includes cloud-based solutions.

At Forescout, we believe our visibility, control and multivendor orchestration capabilities address the key aspects of all three of Gartner’s recommendations. Complete this form to download this timely research note.
